C’R Govt. Apprehend Kidnappers, Notorious Drug Lord, Vows To Make State Safe.

As part of measures to ensure a secured and safe Cross River, the State government, Monday launched a massive crackdown against criminal hideouts within the state capital.
The operation which lasted for hours was carried-out by the state special security outfit code-named, Operation Akpakwu and saw the arrest of some kidnap kingpin and drug leaders including one notorious Umoh Ekanem AKA, Ewankolo who was arrested at his hideout along Murray Street in Calabar south.
Some of the suspects arrested confessed to the crime and pleaded for forgiveness.
Recall that about a week ago, the state government had launched an attack on criminal hideouts, illicit drug peddlers and illegal scrap metal operators in the State which led to the arrest of over 14 suspects.
