CROSS RIVER STATE CANNOT AFFORD TO BE IN OPPOSITION, MUST VOTE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS APC CANDIDATES IN 18TH MARCH, 2023 GOVERNORSHIP/STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS
Politics Friday, March 10th, 2023
It is no longer news that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Candidate was declared winner of the Presidential Election which held on Saturday 25th February, 2023.
Independent National Electoral Commission INEC declared Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu winner after Polling a total of 8, 794,726 to beat his closest rival PDP Atiku Abubakar who got 6, 984, 520 and LP Peter Obi who scored 6, 101, 533.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has since presented a Certificate of Return to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President Elect and he is to be sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 29th of May, 2023.
We can confidently say thus that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be the President of Nigeria for the next four year by the grace of God. In the light of this, any state which elects a governor and members of state assembly from any other party will be in opposition to the National government of the All Progressives Congress APC politically speaking.
In addition to this, the last national assembly election produces two Senators-elect out of three and five House of Representatives Members-elect out of eight for the All Progressives Congress APC in the state. This is clearly majority for the party.
Cross River State cannot afford to be in opposition to the National government politically for the next four years for obvious reasons;
First, the state is one of the least earning states in Nigeria when it comes to Federally Allocated Revenue. This will make running an administration as an opposition government very difficult which will inturn affect the citizens and residents.
Second, the political differences between the national government and the state government will continually bring friction which will further bring suffering to the masses and impede economic and infrastructural development. This will not be the first time that is happening.
Third, appointment of key persons into strategic offices and positions in the national government may not be the same as in States which are not in opposition because there is no cordial relationship between an opposition state governor and the president running the national government. This will further deny the state of key benefits.
Indeed, the list of forseen challenges is endless and for want of space and time we cannot list all of them here. But it suffices to say that there will be lots of gains if we all come out en Mass and vote the All Progressives Congress APC in the forthcoming Governorship/State Assembly elections which will hold on Saturday 18th March, 2023.
Cross Riverians should not only vote the APC Governorship Candidate Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu but also vote all APC House of Assembly Candidates across the 25 State Constituencies in order to have an assembly that can work in synergy with the Governor to achieve dividends of democracy for the people.
With Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu as Governor of Cross River State and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria, there is no doubt that with the synergy moderated by the party, the All Progressives Congress APC, there will be unprecedented development, infrastructure and amenities will be further drawn to the state and required financial support from the national government to ensure a good life for the citizens and residents will be seamless.
Make a good decision, choose to vote wisely, make the choice to vote All Progressives Congress APC on Saturday 18th March, 2023 so that Cross River State will not be in opposition because we cannot afford to do that in the next four years. Vote APC and all the good things associated with being in synergy with the national government will naturally flow to the state.
